    Steelforge of the Elements

Post by ElementSteel on Wed Feb 20, 2013 7:44 pm

Right, well, I guess I'm just gonna say right out of the gate that I don't like review trading, makes me feeling like my advice is being vvhored out. From that point though, I will not mind if people ask for reviews here, and I just have to just not ask for a return. :\ (Although, I'd appreciate some love!)

I'd also like to reserve the right to not review someone even if they ask, only because the concept they bring up just does not appeal to me or catch my eye. My belief is that a concept should be able to be appealing, not needing to be brought forth by the creator. I can understand that concepts will start to just blend in with other concepts or get shoved under by others because of sheer numbers.

For me to look at your concept, I do require that you have at least lore and a kit. Numbers are not my thing in all honesty, although I will look at them if you happen to have them set.

As always, I reserve the right to flip out should someone blatantly ignore my restrictions.

In any case...obviously not everything jumps out at me, and here's what I'd like to see, don't mind seeing but will probably not get overly excited for, and not see for requests:

    "Interesting...":
    - Dragons
    - Underdogs
    - Piltover
    - Hybrid
    - Southern Valoran
    - League Affiliated
    - Freljord
    - Concepts based on real people
    - Elsewhere on Runeterra

    "Seen it":
    - Void-Corrupted
    - Demacia
    - Shadow Isles
    - Technological Yordle
    - Offworld
    - Noxus
    - Ionia

    "Get the **** Out":
    - Jokes
    - Champion Minions
    - Already-Existing Characters
    - Mary-Sues
    - Cat-related
    - Gods
    - Self-named Concepts

As I've said, if you get my attention with the concept that you link and it is clever, then you've earned the attention and I'll gladly give it a review.

I don't believe you've seen Holix, the Arcane Shield. Piltover based tank/support. I would've suggested Cilla since she doesn't really fall into any of those categories but you've already seen her :3

Wasn't Holix the first one I did for ya? o.O
I'll check again, if you want though.

That's fine. It's not an overdone concept at least like some other things. I don't mind seeing things like those. Just not all at once! >.<

    One, define overdone.
Two, I have two champs. Should I link one or both?

    1) When I say overdone, I mean have you seen how many "OF DEMACIA" or "OF THE VOID" concepts there are on the other forum? Gets kind of old. x_x;;

    2) I'd say one for now.

Ah. I thought you were referring to something about Ionian champs. Yeah, those pop up freaking everywhere!

And I guess I'll post my first champ. Because honestly I have no clue who to put first anyhow. XD
I'm a go get her link.

    Herma, The Dashing Heart

    Just a quick warning.

She's a Movement Speed champ. As far as I've seen, a lot champs like that aren't really liked. Razz
And I can't tell if some of her scales are too high.

Thank you so much! I've been trying to get reviews so I can make champions that really please people. I'm just as fond of making champs as much as I am impressing people. That came out wrong. XD

First of all, when you say god, do you mean a real god, a fictitious being that happens to be a god, or a primordial being of godlike like power that isn't actually defined as a god? Secondly, could you take a look at Dementia, The Lord of Madness and/or Moros, The Aspect of Doom and tell me what you think? Thanks.

he said "gods" meaning Zeus et al.

and "void corrupted" probably applies to Dementia as well.

How so? Dementia has, quite literally, nothing to do with the void. Is it the naming, or is it the fact that he is an unpleasant otherworldly being?

When you take the god term into consideration, you can't forget Xerath.

    Please forgive the incredibly late response! Got distracted by Secret World. >.>;;

Anyway, for your question about gods, I mean something that claims to be omnipotent and godly. Something like that does not belong in the League, considering it would make everything completely one-sided.
Think of Jax: He is a master at pretty much any form of fighting, so he is incredibly deadly. However, he can be limited by using an improvised weapon because it is not as dedicated to killing as like say a sword or a spear.
A god is all-powerful, meaning that that can not be limited without making the character completely pointless. "Oh my! It's Ares! He's gonna kill us al-Oh, Garen Demacia'd all over him. Oh well." Game needs to be balanced so that that can possibly happen, not so the 'god' just laughs in everyone's face.
If you want another example, look at Kayle and Nasus. Look at how powerful they are. While yes people consider them godly beings, they're just off-worlders like Anivia or Taric. A god would be more powerful than an infinitely scale one-hit damage ability or invulnerability for a short time. But that can't happen without fucking over the game.
All-in-all, no Gods. Bad for game.

Anyway...about reviews, I looked at Dementia for a lil' bit and saw that the Void is afraid of this other dimension?...Isn't the Void supposed to be Lovecraft in nature, and probably the scariest bloody thing in the universe? (I mean c'mon, KOGGY THE SHOGGOTH! >.<) I'll take a quick look at Moros to see if it does catch my eye though.

Again, sorry for the delay. Blame the Illuminati hiding shit all over Solomon Island.

The thing with Xerath is he was sealed. He can be held into account. He is not all-powerful, despite being a pure manifestation of magic.
