Not a lot of artists, eh?

Just noticed that it doesn't seem like there any artists on the site. That sucks for the artistically challenged here. It would help if we could somehow make this site more known to League fans around the internet (kinda like advertising).

In terms of more artists, Deviant Art would be a good place.

Artists are hard to come by :\

Alot of artists have been pushed away by rude and needy champcrafters. An example would be Vaylore.

Actually, it's not even "masked"... Vaylore was simply flamed and harassed because he was what others wasn't; an artist.

Bad designers would simply say that they found his work disappointing and such, whereas others would blame the OP for not having its own art and a terrifuckinghuge number of people would spam his thread to get a concept art done for their champ.

Vaylore was an artist himself. That makes more sense than what I thought. I feel for the guy.

Me, I wouldn't really ask for any art from someone unless asked to do or the artist in question offered. I'm just uncomfortable with asking for help with things I can't do very well myself or don't know how to do at all. That's the best way I can think of wording it.

How could people find Vaylore's work dissappointing? Vaylore's work was awesome! his drawings had a certain figure in them that I rarely saw in other artists. Take this example of an unfinished picture of C'theeb he was working on :

You simply can't get this quality from most others on the forums.

Oh yeah, Vaylore was damn good. At least had standards for who deserved the work, and that is respectable. Sigh...why must we lose so many good people to fuckers on the official forum? :/

I personally wonder what it would've been like if Vaylore had stuck around long enough to actually finish the picture.

I agree with Element, it's really unfortunate to have lost so many great people over time

To have lost such beauty... It's honesty painful to know that happened.

Vaylore was a really awesome perso. I ws lucky enough to get to know her, after she did two of my concepts (which for that, I will be in debt). It was very unfortunate RL and online complainers got to her and made her not be able to comtinue on.

It's a fucking shame! It's one reason I won't go out of my way to ask for art. Because for all I know, they already have tons of people begging them for the same thing.

It would be wonderful to have artists here, but if you're good enough you don't need images to give visual to the readers.
Using words alone could be pleasing to visualize for yourself.

I'm sorry, but I'm saddened by the fact that very rarely do people actually look at concepts and their words. I normally only see people who have images on theirs get attention.

Yeah, that's why I works hard digging through internet for a potential character image.
But usually, I don't find an effective one.
The only expectations are the ones where i used the image to create a champion from, you can find those on the second post of my collection thread in my profile on the last link, or in my introduction thread if you prefers better clarification.

The crash destroyed it all. I don't have my computer anymore and is currently in middle of getting a new one... (Brother built it, decided to get me Window 8, while that is nice of him...it's BAD, so my computer's pretty much fucked up with not starting and whatnot cuz of it. He's trying to fix it too. But I just had my ISP send me a guy to fix our internet and got me connected on 3DS for my DLC on FE:A and he offered to fix my computer before Wed if brother brings it or after two weeks when he returns from his army training.)

pictures are easy because it offers a more general idea that doesn't take much effort to process. Words are innately more difficult because you need to process the combination of symbols and then derive meaning from their context and implications of their use. Lacking body language also hinders communication as well. (I mean, just look at the Elcor)

people like pictures because they're pretty. people then associate pretty with good. and they associate good with the person who gave them pictures because their brains are bad at comprehension.

I still personally think pictures made just for the champion in question are the better kind. It's showing an extra level of attention to them if you ask me.

Yeah, that's true.
But it's another story if you can get readers to visualize the champion very specifically using words.
I means, that's professional writing right there.
